Celebrating Composition in Irish Traditional Music

Our Living Tradition

Féile John Dwyer 2023 presents ‘Our Living Tradition’ in the Garter Lane Arts Centre at 2.30 on Saturday 30th September. Renowned accordion player Diarmuid Ó Meachair will debut his newly composed suite of music which honours the life and legacy of the Dwyer brothers of Béara - John, Finbarr, Michael and Richard. Specially commissioned by Féile John Dwyer, with support from the Arts Council of Ireland, this exclusive performance is not to be missed. The recital will also feature performances from Edel Fox, Neill Byrne, Clare Friel, Anna Friel, George McAdam, Colm McGonigle and Conor Arkins. All performers will play tunes from their own repertoire of self-compositions, or from the repertoires of some of Ireland's most celebrated composers of traditional tunes.
